There's no Red Port Left

Colour depends on company. Some use yellow, blue and green. Cabrinha bars used to be yellow, some are orange.

I'm just more inclined to grab a colour with my right hand instead of black. I have to keep telling myself that black is right.

Left hand side of the bar should be red (port) and the right side green (starboard) - many bars have random colours !! So the colour of your forward hand will quickly tell you what tack you are on - Starboard has right of way in sailing/ kiting
People say you don't need to know - but when it all come unstuck is nice to have a quick visual reference to see which side of the bar you should grab!!
I have F-one bars that are all white - pretty hey !! but I have added red electrical tape to the LHS and green to the RHS - anal I know but it works for me !!

To answer the OP: to make it easy to spot which way around the bar is, when you're scrabbling for it.

Red, yellow, pink, doesn't matter what color it is because you're not a boat and you're not advertising your position and heading to other vessels.

Best color coded bar I've used is the Flysurfer Infinity 1. Red on the left, black on the right - fine; but the rather than little letters saying "wrong way" on the back, there's a bar-wide white stripe. High contrast, easy to spot and react to.

Most brands use black on the right with the exception of Naish who use yellow on the right. Makes more sense, instead of having to look for your bar, boom just grab the yellow.

The white stripe sounds like a good idea.

This might be too easy....but why not rig your steerlines backwards?
