Hi guys,

a good friend from durban introduced me to kiting while I was on holiday there and im keen to get into it here. I only have about 2hrs under my belt riding a Wipika 13.5m matrix kite and a 137 board the wind was about 15kts and I was able to get up and go both directions fairly easily but I did crash the kite once or twice.

What are the predominant brands of kites/gear here? in durban everyone rided with people who had the same brand as them. is this the same in oz?

I live about 5min away from the beach in wollongong and would really like to find a partner to kite with. im 21 and at uni there so have plenty of time . im away until the 17/12 but if anyone needs a partner please email me at [email protected]

thanks,

Andrew

there is always someone out during the day if it is up! there are shift workers, pilots and bludgers
i work full time but managed to fit 50 min session into my 1.5 hr lunch break and and hour after 5pm
stoked the east coast got a good breeze 2day .. and it was a southerly.
those nor easters are not getting to wollongong as much as they are sydney. All the sydney pollution is causing a wind barrier
