Hi there!

Can anyone tell me some nice beginner spots around Margaret River? I've been north of Perth already, but my next holiday will be to the South-West area.
I know it's quite wavey down there, but maybe there's a place for beginners to go!

Thanx!!
Esther

Check out the river mouth at Augusta. Most people kite further down the river, closer to the car park, but as a beginner you might find your self caught out on the wrong side. In the mouth you will still get smooth water but it should be a bit safer.

If wind's on try Australind Estuary on your way down south. Perfect for beginners.

hey. just be aware the sw- westerlies can be quite gusty this time of year down there. if youre not a total beginner, boat ramps at prevelly can be good as fairly flat(if not too big) as inside reef.
or anything with west - north, try dunsborough, nice and flat and shallow just take care on launch and land as lots of sticks etc on narrow beach.
enjoy

Thanks guys! I'll check these spots out during the windy season... Someone advised me to have a look at Dunsborough/Meelup. Any locals on this forum about this spot?
It looks like there are some beginner locations South, but not as many as North....

Anyway, all information is welcome!

Thanx Esther
