I've been interested in doing a this wave/kite development camp for a while and was just wondering if anyone has done the camp in Bali.
I've got 6 years flat water experience but would like to get into waves.
I trashed a kite in the waves a couple years ago and was put off by the ordeal but looking to have a go this summer

Was it worth it?
Ive done a search and didnt come up with much

PM me if you want to keep it private

cheers

Namotu is paradise... I had the best kite sesh of my life there on my birthday riding the lefts about six weeks ago. Go, go, go!!!!!

I don't personally know anyone who has done the camp in Bali, but in general the BWS camps are 100% worth it from all accounts. I was lucky enough to spend a day riding with the crew at Old Bar and watching Ben & co. instructing and the after-kite video breakdown of everyone's riding seemed invaluable. Ben is an approachable guy and explains things in a way everyone can understand. I've seen friends before and after the camps and their progression was pretty incredible. Hope that helps :)

i did the first camp in 2008 (i think) at balian. the wind was consistent but not strong- i was on a 13 most days and rode my 9 once (c kites). it was an all inclusive deal and accommodation and food were fantastic.
ben's coaching was awesome, in a few days i learnt what would've taken me months to figure out on my own. i'd already had some experience in the waves but a few pointers made a world of difference to my riding.

i'd recommend it. it wasn't cheap but you forget the price in a few weeks- all i remember now was a great week of riding.

Hey Torch, I would be surprised if this Bali 2012 wave camp is NOT booked out. I did a weekend style camp in 2009, chased the guys all over Indo in 2010 and tried again on 2011. If you are looking for the next level, these guys can provide that. Very approachable and accommodating for any level. What I learned in the short (training) time around Ben provided me with energy for the next 6 months. Some of the information they provide, you and I will never reach. The location they have in Bali is for sure the best beginner/intermediate location for early August in Indo. It is a great place to learn and also rip it up. At the same time, wind is consistent for that time of the year. Remember that you are in the tropics and conditions for kiting can go missing at inconvenient times.
