I'm in Sydney for a month and want to kite at Narrabeen. Which is the best graph for wind conditions?

North head is the best one. If it is less than 15 knots dont bother as the wind wont be at Narrabeen. Kurnell is on the south side near Cronulla....it is always blowing a steady 10knots more than Narra...but is flat water.

Are south winds generally the same both north and south of the city, or does around botany still get more?

BTW, the CoastalWatch Narrabeen cam has been stolen twice and is unlikely to be replaced.

Thanks for the info. Any other spots nearby that would offer better wave kiting conditions? I haven't been for a kite yet in Sydney and am really keen to get out. I have no flatwater board so am only interested in waves atm.

Botany still, always, exceedingly, gets more wind.
Don't listen to those deluded people from the windless Latte side, the "new" windmeter is being installed over the coffee machine at Cafe Pouting, so just ignore what it says, because its never very windy on the latte side, its just cafe hot air.
If you see kites on the coastal cams, look closer, they are probably beach shelters.

I've found the best Narrabeen wind meter to be the latte its self. You can gauge the wind strength from the distance the milk froth gets blown from the cup.
