Looking to save some cash and am just wondering if i can get away with a 45cm bar on a 13m 2007 Waroo? Looking to use this bar on both my 9 and 13 instead of having to get a 55 bar as well... What are the effects of a smaller bar on a larger kite?

Cheers

I think you'll struggle with it dude and ultimately be dissapointed. Unless it is really powered up it'll turn like a supertanker and just p!ss u off. I find that even my 11m is a bit sluggish when wind is light with a 45cm bar. Of course I suspect I have some unresolved setup issues which aren't helping but I should think a 13m would be worse.
Best nominate the 11m as the crossover point in terms of bar size from memory.
There is a rear bridle mod that some ppl do to the 07 (removing the pulley) to make it a bit sharper which would probably help but I don't have any experience with it - if I remember correctly there are diagrams on the Best forums on how to do it.

What Skinner said - Its the Truth!
The 13M needs the 55cm bar, is will be a pig on a 45 and you will not be bale to turn it tightly with ot without the rear pulley mod.
For most people leave the rear pulleys on.

Ditto, yup, all of the above... 55cm minimum.

Truth be told, a slightly longer bar in light wind would be good with the pulleys in place on the kite.

I rode the 13 with the 45cm bar for 2 months before upgrading to the 55cm. So it's do-able on a 45. On the 55 the kite is slightly easier to turn for sure...

However - much depends on your back line knot setting. I fly my Waroos on the last or second-last knot away from the kite, since I like riding/jumping with the bar close to me. In the said close-to-the-hips position the kite is way easier to turn, as you're not having to turn it with outstretched arms.

Doing the mentioned mod will make the pivoting slightly more direct too.

The more you shorten your backline ( higher knots) the more you're forced to ride in poo stance with outstretched arms. In that scenario you WILL need the 55cm bar for sure.

You can indeed ride a 13m waroo on a 45cm bar, yes the kite will require more input in some turns however it is do-able. I've been riding that way for years... It all comes down to your riding style, I personally dont move the kite much, others move their kite all over the window. Choosing the right kite for the conditions is what it comes down to in my opinion.

And as I mentioned, try riding on the bottom 2 knots as well. You may be surprised. Oh, nearly forgot! In combination with a seat harness.
