2 years ago, the Lizard island research station (90km N of cooktown) did not record a
single instance of the SE dropping below 20 knots for the whole period from April 1st to the end of september! Most of that time it was 25-35knots. Yeah there are some sharks, but it is easy to see them through the crystal clear blue water

, and they aren't the type that are likely to mistake you for a seal and take of a limb just to have a taste test.
