Hi there,

I am about to book my kitesurf holidays for April.
I don't have a car, so it should be a city for good kitesurfing as well as for partying.

Any advice within a flight price range of 500AUD is appreciated.
I am beginner level (riding forth and back on the water).

Cheers,
Alex

Bali is too expensive.
I'm indifferent between:

Brisbane
Collangatta
GoldCoast
Perth
New Zealand

What's your oppinion on that? Which one shall I book?

Cheers

Very Little Wind in QLd in April. I have been a few times and have had very little wind. Try NZ or Perth

thx kyteryder,

just checked Townsville, cheap as well. How about that, since it's more up the north in Qld?

cheers

also in consideration that I have no car, so I just wanna crash at some Hostel, and have a walkable distance to the beach.

I loved that in St.Kilda in Melbourne, where Base Backpackers is just a 15min walk away.

So the only thing which I need for townsville is a stingersuit, which I don't own?
How much are they?

Kia ora, NZ will have wind, but prob freezing SW! There are some exposed and isolated spots all round the coast line, I reckon there are insane spots all round, but have a crack at the west coast of the south island. Cheap accom, no public transport, friendly locals to hitch with (apart from the very occasional mainacal murderous psychopath) and kilometer after kilometer of unhabited beach blowing anyware between 15 on a calm day to 40+ the rest of the time (kidding!).
Take ya surfboard and pop over the coast to Kaikoura for some epic surf. Remember your thickest wetsuit, and if you try the kite it the locals will be thinking what the F _K is this flying thing pulling this fella along?

Would be classic and they'd be talking about it in the pub for weeks

so now I am fancying Mackay, Townsville or Rockhampton
Mackay has a hostel close to the kitebeach, so that would be awesome.

Which of the above do you recommend for flatwater?
How about Yeppoon (Emu Park?).

Cheers,
Alex
