I've been in Oz for five months on a working holiday and want to spend the two months that I have left to learn kitesurfing. Where is the best kitesurfing spot in Australia in April and May? I've heard that Perth is good with reliable wind. I've been thinking of Noosa as well.

Thanks

Denham, WA would be my pick...but I have only been here for 9yrs. I have heard of a guy called "lurch" who guards the kiting castle in the Northern part of kiting heaven.

Have never been there though.

Thanks Gruezi
The place has been rockin', Saturday we ended up coming in late arvo when the wind peaked at about 35 kts ssw. Sunday saw a good 20 kt se in the morning before backing off in the arvo to almost a glass off. The winds consistent but hard to pick at the moment, just come up when you see the beginnings of a high caressing her thighs up against the penisula thats when the southerly flow kicks in and its on for a few days. Last couple of days have seen not much wind and tiny swell so a couple of the lads went surfing at a secret small wave spot out on the real coast. If I tolds ya's where it is I'd have to kill ya, either that or I'd get shot!
At this time of year the eastern gulf (Monkey Mia) starts to get se early mornings before backing off mid morning.
Best way to find out is get on ya bike and get up here, if the winds not on then the scenery at Monkey Mia is (my office looks over the dolphin area and the view this morning is spectacular!)
Cheers

We'll hunt you down when we're on our way

But Hey its not all bad down here yet.
We're still getting out more often than not
Just left wondering if its worth it sometimes & you gotta be planning & ready for it 24/7 or it just doesnt happen.

Good winds in queensland you say? Sounds good, I'm leaving Sydney for Noosa in a couple of days. People say it's a good place. Do you know anything about Noosa? Other places to recommend in Queensland? Thanks for answering!
