Im only new to perth and was wondering if people could tell me the best spot to ride for a NE. Does point Walter work? What spots would be good to take photos for tomorrow and Saturday mornings in a NE?

Cheers

Welcome

I never sailed at Pt Walter, but a mate told me you can have funny winds in a SW-erly with the seabreeze going over that coastal strip and gusts hitting down there with dark spots in the water from which the wind radiates in all directions ...

Applecross is a good spot in winter, also reffered to as lucky bay,
check the maps from the WSP shop at http://www.windsurfingperth.com.au/wsurf-location.html . Might also have some good Perth panorama views for a photo.

Cheers,
Steve

PS: Drive slowly, I just rode my bicycle down Dunkley Avenue today, past the big pile of flowers where a small boy got run over by a car last week

If it has a lot of North in it Point Walter becomes too sketchy , it is always gusty there though due to the nature of the easterlies .
Point Majestic (I think that is what it is called)is a better spot when it has lots of North in it . It is to the east of all those flash houses you can see on the point when you are at Melville .
This morning (Friday)would still be OK at Point Walter though ,I think .

Common guys tell the truth, It was a terrible session, not worth the effort, I'm gonna stay home tomorrow, the only good part was the Muzz Buzz coffee on the way their at 7am. Shunter was under powered on his 16m, I was kooking on my 12m and Carl Bevo was just limping along on his 10m. Adam tired a handle pass but was so under powered on his 10m I reckon he saw a few crabs as his head was dangling under the water. Luke from SOS was out on his wind surfer and just sat on the beach watching. These forums are full kite adicted dudes who get a stiffy at a gusty 12 to 15 knots. I reckon Mike has the call majestics in Applecross or maybe even Pelican Poin, keep Ant company.

oh yeah thats right it was crap...

rocks, gusts, breakins, much safer at pelican point or majestics or maybee the 2km strech along the foreshore road, the footy oval anywhere but the spit..

and it was cold so damm cold i couldnt push my nipples in, oh and what about the rocks and the killer jellies, and the sharks did ya see the sharks feeding on the blind mullets from the Bicton raw sewer outlet, big brown muthas they where and the sharks werent a bad size either. the there where the 40-50 odd kyakers taking up valuable water space, waving there damm paddles around like they own the place.

what about the water police giving us all tickets for flying advertising banners without a permit man that sucks how am i gunna afford to buy that inflatible sheep/slider now.

and those fly fishers waving those wands all over the place never understodd what the attraction of catching flys, how bigga back steaks do you get off flys anyway...ohhh and the flys how bad where they......

Guy's, back on the subject ...

This morning's a North Easterly. I would have thought ideal for the the stretch of beach about a 2 miles long, in Attadale. Starting from Attadale side of Lucky Bay and going along to the boat ramp area at Point Walter. However I have never see anybody kiting here? Is there a reason? I would have thought it an ideal location.
