Hireing a big catamaran on sunday for a week in the whitsunday's.

Looking to spend another week somewhere between the Goldcoast & the Whitsunday's that is family friendly and has plenty of wind to put up a kite or two.

Anybody have any recomendations ?

Was thinking of Mackay or Harvey bay.

Can you kite anytime or is it tide dependent?

Is there a caravan park at blacks beach and would this be the place to stay?

There are many places to ride in Mackay dependant on the conditions and tide.

-Blacks Beach is really good at Mid to low tide and wind.
-Far Beach is great at High tide, SE, E winds are the best.
-Harbour Beach great at all tides and wind.
-East Point great in all tides and wind

Most areas in Mackay have Flat water sections but do have some great wave kickers just outside the sandbars, the water is Blue and there is all sand, no rocks.

Season is mostly all year round, however Oct to DEC dies off a little but we then get the North winds, Cant be predicted and seriously kick ass. Winter rocks, winds are great and it aint to cold.

Call the shop when ever if you are deciding to visit and I can let you know what the conditions are like.
