Has anyone ridden a bi-direction wave board, like the Shinn Wave or equivalent? Are they any good in the surf?

Depends what you wanna do in the surf. If you want to wave ride buy a surfboard.

Hey Kev I ride a Toxic Wave and its lots of fun - I am moving towards a surfboard and twin tip combo now - but thats me.

I had to increase fin size to make the Toxic work and its a great bord in the waves. A mate rides a Shinn Wave and he didnt like it that much until he changed the default footstrap position and now loves it to bits also.

The toxic has more volume and round rails making it more forgiving in the surf. I have also ridden the Spleene Zone a few times and its a winner I reckon - planes easy, and rides waves well with little power in the kite at times.

The ultimate is a surfboard if you want to ride the wave and something more like the Zone, toxic or the Shinn for powered wave riding.

Lots of people around to demo them with so give them all a crack mate.
