I have seens guys out at wanda (cronulla) in double mast high stuff during southerlies. Can be really gnarly though as at that size it's a bit "crunchy" and not very consistent. Rips all the way out to the reefs. Actually at that size the water is flatter between waves cause the wind cant get down to it properly. Have been on the beach watching guys and thier kites not visible from the beach cause they are in the troughs between waves.
Been a long time since the last one of those days though.
There are a few pole boarder who go out in that too. they get more respect almost cause boy do they get hammered, and hammered often, out there. On second thoughts, maybe they are just dumber...
