One thing that is great about kiters is the tight-nit community.
A couple of weeks ago I put a post up saying I was after some foot pads, but couldn't find any for sale (of the brand I was after). Today, I was stoked to see my letterbox bulging with the afformentioned pads when I arrived home from work. Will not name the donator for fear he may get hundreds of PM's asking for free stuff!
This is just one of the many great types of actions that fellow kiters will do to help out other kiters, and I think its really cool.
Surfing seems like it kind of lost that community vibe a couple of decades ago, so its great to be part of something that is really positive. Good karma to all of you out there who are doing cool things like rescues, giving advice to newbs at your local, helping with launches, landings, lending a screwdriver, posting things from Australia to NZ etc....

I'm a surfer as well and a Newbie to kiting, I agree with you about Kiters being a pretty cool bunch, I've lost my board twice and got it returned both times when I put it out there.
It's a pity Surfing doesn't have the same vib anymore, I find it only when I travel OS in remote locations. I'm really enjoying Kiting and the people.

I agree with that... I came to WA 25years ago as a euro windsurfer and made a heap of friends, but there was also clearly a localism with some.
As a newbie kiter, I've been quite taken aback as to how warm, friendly and makeaneffort kiters I've met have been. I hope it continues as the sport grows. It is good.

i left my board on the beach a couple of years ago at woodies.. checked seabreeze n it was posted on here n i picked it up that day. Best bunch of dudes
