Hello,

I can buy a 57cm best rp 2014 bar.

I have a 11,5m and 9,5 Kahoona 2013! Is it okay to use the bigger bar om both kites?

Can anyone tell me what the difference would ben if i had a 52cm bar?

Thanks!

Ps couldn't Find this thread. But it probably exists already.

I would not advise that bar for those kites due to the size. Wider bars will splay out the canopy of the kite by forcing the wings open, causing the kite to fly strange. My general experience has been to use bars 52cm+ for kites in the 12m+ range, 47-52cm for kites in the 8m-12m range, and 47cm or smaller for kites smaller than 8m.

Keep in mind the line split on the rear lines is being magnified as you go higher up the lines, so you need a wide enough canopy to handle that.

^^ Good old seabreeze advise
The bigger bar will just make the kite turn quicker. Shouldn't be a problem for the 11.5 but may make the 9 a bit quick for your taste. If you prefer the feel of a shorter bar you can usually take the bar ends off and cut the bar down to suit.

I'm gona call boolarks to that statement!... unless you are using stupid short lines it will make no difference what so ever if the bar is 40 or 60cm wide to the kite shape!

What it does change is the impact to the turning input you put into the kite. Ie smaller bar give less turning input larger bar more.

I run one bar size 50cm from 13m to 6m for my kites.

Short answer is yes it will work. The kites mind be a little more reactive. I see no disadvantage on using bigger bars for smaller kites (apart from the physical size might be annoying) if you can handle the faster response the bigger bar gives you.

Girls always talk about how they prefer a big bar
But really
A small bar is just as good when you know how to use it

CLASSIC!^^^ to the ladies comment. Lol
big Bar wont effect the canopy layout, just the turning speed, however the front line Y position can alter the way a kite flys depending on bridle design. A 57 on a 9m will be a bit hectic but you would get used to it after a few sessions.

You could just buy a longer bar with back line connection points on both inside n outside for both sizes

Same bar size, change your line lengths if you want some adaptability.

smaller bar on a small wave kite you want to slow down for serious in the pocket stuff, yeh maybe.

I always prefer as fast as fark in the waves. The faster the better. 50cm bar on 6m kite.... mucho speedy.
But if your used to big ass kite 6m on biggish bar is like an angry wasp!. But I like angry wasp speed.

Big bar short lines for small waves because not much time between bottom turn to top turn. Big waves longer lines smaller bar because you don't want the kite hunting the edge of the window.
