hi guys.
It seems there is a very inconsistent & haphazard glitch on our auction site.
If you could spare a few minutes to check it out from your computer I would be mighty grateful.
If you can surf ur way to:
ttp://www.kitesurfsup.com.au/index.php?option=com_bfauction_plus&view=bfauction_plus&limitstart=0&Itemid=664
That comes up with all the items on the auction list.
Try clicking to an item as though you were wanting to bid.
Whats happening randomly (apparently) is that when you click on the item (or the 'BID NOW' beside it) it takes you to the next screen which sometimes doesnt have the 'BID NOW' option showing.
You will see details on the item, a "BUY NOW' price with an option to click, bid history link etc but no fields in the centre where the "BID NOW" option should be.
If you click back & try 5 - 10 different items off the list it would give a good result indication.

Please dont think this a scam to get you involved - its not.
I wouldnt want to advertise our problems if it wasnt necessary & if it wasnt going to help.
Bit of rigamarol on your part I realise but I would really appreciate your effort & feedback.
A PM off seabreeze or message off our URL contact form telling me what result/s you got would be awesome.
And, very importantly - pls include which hosting co. & which browser you were using.
Positive & problem results are equally valuable to try to sort what going on. Dont just want to hear about the glitched attempts. We need both to try to get a handle on it.

I just tried it here - took me just over 3 min's of my time. Thankyou HEAPS - if ur up for it.

Try sticking a "h" on the front, then it might work.

HI puppetonastring,

I have a little software house in Burleigh and we work a lot with Joomla. (which seems to be your site CMS).

Give me a call tomorrow morning 1300 768 568 or 0405 974 447 and we will sort this out for you.

Stupid question, but I tried what you said and ahhh you need an account to bid? It even says so on the top, so obiously there is no bid button without a prior login?

Hmmm. Seems to be working now. Created an account, logged in and was offered to bid and I could see that there is a current bid, the clock ticks and I was able to place a bid (fake bid).
So what's the problem Phil?
I had a look at the source code and there is a high risk of jscript hell in there. i recommend you get the code reviewed with FireFly and Firefox. And whom ever wrote it should do it for you no charge.

Thanks guys - problem is it is totally random.
Yep you have to login (thats part of the program) but even when logged in Ive had calls & messages from ppl who are unable to get the right page up even after logging in the first time & coming back.
Its happened to me as admin as well. Totally random & haphazard.
Hopefully we'll get it fixed tomorrow.
Thanks heaps for feedback. Getting lots throught the site as well.
Gotta love kite culture hey!!
