Anyone had any leading edge bladder problems with the 09 Waroo? I have a new 13m to cut a long stort slightly short I had to take the bladder out to make a very small repair to the LE fabric, and re-fitted the bladder. First time after I pumped it up - bang- the bladder tip blew. Obviously I thought I hadn't refitted it properly, so went on to repair the bladder, this time taking a lot of care when re folding the tip making certain the velcro was clean and fitting squarely etc. Yep, you guessed it the tip blew out again!
As a new bladder wasn't available the local shop sent the kite and bladder to Moti Levi for 'a proper repair' with him re-fitting the bladder to make sure everything was good. Got the kite back last week and pumped it up to 5psi just to start with and looked at the tips, everything was looking good. A few more strokes of the pump and bollocks the end blew out again!

Now I'm starting go get pissed of about this. I would just like to know if anybody has had simillar problems.

had the same problem with a wipika years ago. It obviously was a production
mistake the leading edge to big for the bladder, but it's like banging your head on
a brick wall with some companies. I guess you could get a bigger you stick bladder
thats oversized, should solve the problem, yeah dude I feel your frustration.

Hi Board9898,

We had a customer yesterday who when inflating his new 10m Airush Flow FT, blew a leading edge bladder. This was the first occurence of this I have had with Airush. He was pretty pissed off as he had taken time out of his day to kite in the early afternoon.

I gave him my new 10m demo Flow FT to continue his session and took his kite to the Airush loft were they inspected it and agreed the bladder had been incorrectly installed/too short and agreed to an immediate warranty replacement. I rocked around to the Airush distributors who had a bladder waiting for me. I grabbed it and raced back to the beach and had the new bladder in the kite as he finished off his session and was packing up my demo FT. Total turn around repair time was about 2 hours.

We swapped kites and he was pretty stoked. We pumped his new bladder and checked it to 7 pounds and it was all good. Problem solved! Many thanks to Airush for prompt service and an excellent resolution to an unusual problem.

I'm sure if you contact either the shop you bought it from, or Joe from Best, you'll get some sort of resolution.

Good winds,

*Always the opportunist, Kitehard cleverly sneaks in the airush ad.
lol.

But to soften the blatant pimping, he concludes and echoes the same wisdom that the previous posters advised.
Nice.

Ah, the ever present and very quick, anti-pimp police are onto it!

Actually, there is so much negetivity and complaining going on around here lately that I felt compelled to give the boys at Airush some props. I am usually giving them grief! [}:)]

Good service largely goes unheralded but should be acknowledged. It's nice to let someone know they are doing a good job and that their efforts are appreciated.

And I thought I'd sneak in a quick plug for AKS and Airush LOL

Good winds,

Hi 9898

I had the same problem with a 13 Waroo and 12 HP. To be honest I think it's the way the bladder is re-installed. I had it happen to me twice. While I'm not sure exactly why it was doing this, I believe a twist in the bladder when installing turns the velcro tip and then the end pops out. I have repaired a couple of times since with no problems. My suggestion is to absolutely ensure no twists when installing, pump up very slowly and beat all along the LE with your hand several times at each stage. Then check the velcro regularly that it's square.

Have you checked the inside the tip of the kite for a thorn/shell/etc?

Thanks to Jono at Cotton Tree Kitesurfing I have now got the bladder repaired and Joe at Best is also sending a new bladder. Many thanks to everyone concerned and thanks for the help! Just goes to show how something simple can still give you grief.

Use plenty of Talcum Powder on the bladders before inserting.

Makes them really easy to slide in and to work out any twists.

I have been riding Best Kites pretty well exclusively since 2003 and have never had any issues. ( except plenty of ** from others about their use)

Ok, the kite is fixed for free, as a customer of The Sunshinecoast Kitesurfing Co. It is as good as new, and board 9898 will also be getting a free new bladder from Best kiteboarding which I will install professionally. I think the problem was that the bladder was removed for a home repair on the leading edge, and when replacing the bladder it may have been stretched. All of board9898's pain could have been avoided if the kites initial repair was done by the shop.
Thanks Joe for sending that bladder promptly and to board9898, I am glad you are happy but hey, next time you need a repair on your kite, no matter how big or small, come see us, we will look after you as a customer. Please don't do it yourself. LOL

Sorry to be a pimp, but you do all know that if you buy 2 Best kites complete from Sunshine Coast Kitesurfing Co. you will receive a free Spark board of your choice, valued at $700. COOL!
