Hey all, I have had a few of the plastic clips that clamp the hose onto the bladder and struts fail. Not the lock of clamp but the plastic clips that go on either end of the hoses. I was struggling to find replacements so was thinking of just using zip ties and then wrapping some tape around the whole lot to stop it damaging the canopy. Any other suggestions or do you think that should work ok?

Thanks!

Yea that'll be fine.

A few considerations -

1) use very small cable ties and don't crank really hard esp if its an old kite otherwise you are in danger of breaking the valves.

2) use a fresh Stanley blade and you can flush cut the cable tie so there won't be a sharp bit of plastic to worry about ripping the canopy. That way no need to tape them.

3) position the locking part of the cable tie facing away from the canopy if still worried about abrasion

What make is the kite?

Possibility I may have some retainers in the workshop and if I don't I can advise if available from o/g manufacturer and/or aftermarket

Cheers

I think taping them or using some other method to protect the canopy would still be a good idea. This will also help prevent any damage on the canopy (or even dacron) when folding the kite. Cabrinha used to have some neoprene sleeves to protect those parts which were quite useful, but they also need to fit tight on the plastic parts that hold the valve on the kite.

No we didn't we got the readily made allready sanded down cable ties from temu !!!
Smooth as a baby's wee bottom already if they came from temu..I've never known temu cable ties to ever damage a canopy even without the cabrinha etc round material covers (neop sleeve) or tape etc

But they have to be from temu or simply doesn't work . The red ones are smoother
Yellow were ok

Only joking .
