Anyone with comments on their sunnies? They've got the Squid and the Tadpole (slim & wide). I'm interested in the Tadpole myself and would love to hear from someone that's got them.
For those who never heard of them go: http://www.blueye.com.au/page1.html

I've got a pair of Tadpoles......the lens is *very* easy to damage. I inadvertently left mine in my 'beach box' after the end of a session. By the time I got home, one side was totally ruined (scratched). I investigated the cost of a replacement lens, but it was very expensive compared to the cost of a whole new pair, so I never bothered.

To be perfectly honest, I wasn't that impressed with them anyway. After you cop a bit of spray in the face, you can't see anything anyway....they didn't appear to be coated with anything to help the water get away, so droplets formed and then dried relatively quickly, leaving you with a load of dried salt spots all over the place.

I just picked up a relatively cheap no-name pair ($65) from my local kiteshop which are polarized and have a secure strap at the back. I've had some pretty fantastic stacks since having them and they are still in one piece ;)

No need to go classy in my opinion they are just going to get sshmaked

yeah the blue eyes are awesome but relatively expensive, especially given they scratch REALLY easily. I had them for riding my bike but tey got trashed after not too long even though I was taking really good care of them.

Go the cheap and nasty service station sunglasses and then throw them away (or recycle them) after a while - it works out much cheaper in the long run...

I've been using the squids since january. I had sea specs before, but they broke pretty quickly. The blue eye's are still fine. A few scratches, but thats to be expected. I had to shorten the strap to get em to stay on my head, and I put some "sea drops" anti fog stuff on em. I just wish the squids were polarised..

Wash your sunnies with Mr Sheen - keeps 'em water proof for about 1 long session.

I've got some cheapies and they work really well. Polarised is a must!

I always get the polarising lenses, the water looks better that way.

then drill a hole in each arm and attache a bit of elastick or shock cord.

I had a pair of Tadpole wide's last year. They were very ordinary. The strap was useless, and once they were wet, you could hardly see through them. I lost them in the surf due to the poor hold from the head strap. I replaced them with the squid model - which are very functional. The strap is very secure, and after kiting for hours, the vision is still clear. Can definitely recommend the squid model over the tadpole model.
