Tell him you will send it to his agent and give a fake name/address. You won't hear from him again.

Don't pussy-foot about with Gina, I'll give you $2500 for the board. However, as I'm on my spaceship at the moment you'll have to send me most of your personal information so that my agent can empty your bank account and steal your identity. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause, but I'm just gagging to pay several times the asking price for used gear and this is an opportunity too good to miss.

Please don't post this e-mail on a web-forum or otherwise mock me. I am a sincere though naive scammer just trying to get by in the 21st century. Kind regards,

dojo

I had the exact same email but for a pair of snow skis, via a seabreeze type ski website.

He said he was a english due on a ship and wanted them shipped elsewhere.

i ****ed with him a bit and never heard back.

i always get a number and call the person direct if selling gear online.

have fun

Last time there was a scammer with a stolen account on ebay selling brand new Cabrinha's for $900 we bought all his stock and then refused to pay via Western Union. It pissed him off no end because he had to relist and we kept buying his stock before anyone else had a chance to buy (we had already lodged a complaint with ebay so we were waiting for them to take the account offline - they took ages to respond and take it down)

I clearly stated that the account (which he had hacked) was in Australia so I would only pick up. He was in China and wanted the money sent to a China western union account. He obviously refused to COD offer, threatened to post negative feedback along with other threats that sent shivers down my left toe. I love pissing off scammers.

I recently listed a carport on gumtree and got exactly the same scam letter from Gina.

Listed it at $3500
Got a letter from 'Gina' asking my 'final price', so I replied $4000.
She replied she'd pay $4150 and her agent would pick it up.
So I replied pick up would incur a cost of $5500.

Strangely enough I never heard from her again.....

F*&king scammers are out there... Be aware....

Hello,
Thanks for the swift reply,i am interested in the torch 20119m and
torch 2008 7m price is okay($1450 for the two) and i want you to get
back
to me with more pictures because i am not available at the moment, i
am in Malaysia and i will be using this here in Malaysia.I will be
handling the pick up of this through a legitimate shipping agent that
has their headquarter situated in Malaysia. Please note that i will not
be needing the registration(if there is any to be done) because it
will be invalid over here so please remove the registration. It will be
picked up after you receive the full payment, so i really need to know
the mode of payment because i need this urgently.

I'd like to know certain things too

Are you the first owner?
Does it have any disabilities presently?
What is your reason for selling it?
I'm sorry, just want to be sure about the sale before i proceed.

Andrew

I also got one about 8months ago for a hard lid i was selling on egay. I went to send them the money until the ind people at the post office warned me. I didnt believe them so i proceeded to send the money (1,200). Fortunatly the transaction didnt go through due to not being able to send more than $1000 a day.

WHAT CAN WE DO????

Had a similar experience selling a bike on bike exchange. We acted really dumb and sent an email back saying this was all new to us, that we did not have a PayPal account. We asked if he could credit our visa account instead, acting really, really dumb we offered to provide the visa account number, name on card, expiry date and the three digit code on the back....

It was the fastest response to an email I have ever had, we strung him on for about 2 weeks asking one dumb question after another until he finally gave up.
