What is with all the dudes wearing board shorts over a wet suit is that the cool thing to do. Or have they got something to hide ??

-Looks cool.
-Protects the wetsuit, as some say. Maybe true for a seat harness or if you wear the shorts Steve Urkel style, other than that it's mainly for people who don't want to admit they are doing it for reason 1.
-Helps storing car keys.

I started doing it for the last reason, but understand the fashion victims as well. Shorts just add that extra bit of funkyness to your style that you always wanted!

As for protecting the wetsuit, I would either wear a rashguard or impact vest.

it has the same purpose as putting socks on over the top of your shoes

If you are taller and have longer boardshorts it protects your legs (especially the back) from sunburn. Now wearing boardshorts over a long wetty I don't understand.

You could wear kite pants and booties and your long legs wouldn't get that unsightly tan line

When you wear jeans or long shorts 100% of the time like me, it doesnt take much to sunburn my glow in the dark thighs. Not to mention I usally wear a T-shirt as well so it would look really weird with a t-shirt and no shorts haha.

I suppose you clowns just rock up at the beach in your smugglers, putting ya little pecker on display like ya good mate Tony? God that is a terrible image. Least that is one good thing about boardies all round.
