Hi i am about 76 kgs and been kiting for about 3 months and want a new freestyle board.. My uncle has bought a new board which i have tried but found that going up wind is extremly difficult on it.
So i would like to be able to go upwind easily but basically what ever you guys suggest. I am really keen on wake style
If it helps i kite with a 10m 2010 switchblade.

What board do you have now?
What board does your uncle have?
Can you go upwind on another board, or still in the learning phase, and finding it difficult still?
Upwind is all technique. You should be able to go upwind on most boards relatively easy, as long as the wind is strong enough for your kite size.

Hi Greg,
there are plenty of trade offs in board design that make it a bad idea to simplify. a great board to go upwind will be flat and generally big (wide and long). This will suck for wakestyle tricks. Wakeboards suck for going up wind - they have too much rocker.
We are the same weight, I'm guessing your not an advanced rider or you probably wouldnt be asking about this. so that true I would suggest about a 135cm x 40ish cm with 5ish mm concave (help to plane sooner and to go upwind easier). You want soft ish tips (flex) but stiff through the middle. this will help with learning tricks. Stiffer boards are less forgiving. It hard to know if a board is soft or stiff unless you feel them and compare. its good you want to buy new in this respect so you have good choice.
boards I would recommend for you - assuming you are learning new tricks rather perfecting advanced moves, from my shop would be the Blackboards carbon pro 135, or the Aboards Z zseries 136.
send me a pm if you want one.
