G'day everyone I recently switched to boots and have noticed a massive increase in bar pressure. The boots soak up a lot of power and that combined with my 90kg means im flying a 12 when most people are on 9's. Yesterday I was out and at the upper end of my 12 wind range and the bar pressure required to kite was increadible, it was taking full strength to just turn like flying a truck through the air. so what im asking is is this just a symptom of the boots that people who use them are used to or should i be looking at my stance or possible streched bridals or something else.
Thanks for any help.

Probably cause you're flying a 12 when everyone else is on 9's

Yea I started on a 9 but it wasn't enough to get going- also i should add if im stationary the kites fine not overpowered bar pressure normal. I think whats happening is because I cant change the angle of my feet I'm dragging the back heel corner through the water (like a brake) instead of cutting through the water on the whole heel side edge. I'm hopeing somebody who actually wears boots has had the same experience and there is aquick fix like just a narrower stance or more duck in the angle of my feet etc.
Anyway ill measure my bridal up tnite to cancel that out of the equation.

or unhooked, boots don't change the way the kite flies, I'd suggest trying to tune your kites/lines

Bro I'm not sure what your trying to say. But in you need to slow down you need to point the board more upwind, that's the brake with boots on a c kite. I definitely haven't noticed much difference in bar pressure. In saying that, I only ride boots or strapless skimboard or surfboard

Thanks for the reply fellas. I measured up my bridals and checked the bar tuneing last night its all good. There is a local instructor up the road that i might ask to just watch/test my gear since the general consensis here is that there should not be any increase. Ill report back if i figure it out, ive gone the boots while recovering from ankle surgery so cant help but think its something wrong that end when im uncomfortable. Thanks again for your imput.
