Broke the batton on my PL Venom 16 today. Kite started to fly erratically after I launched and kept listing to the right. Thought this is not good so I landed and sure enough the batton was split to pieces on one of the sections. Chinese manufacturing again I guess. Anyhow, Anybody got any Ideas on what would be good for a replacement apart from buying an expensive replacement from Peter Lynn? Money is tight at the mo!

you could try a rounded windsurfing battern. most windsurfing shops should have them.

Seek out Mr Float. or go to the arcusers group on yahoo.
Evidently this is a known issue and the guys have been replacing the spars with fibreglass tent poles and other similar items.
But I dont own a venom so email Mr float or go to the group and search or post.

It's a minor problem. I have spare full length spars at $25 and the odd 3-piece in the shop but I am away in QLD until Tuesday morning. The new Venom2's have a 3-piece alluminium spar which is less prone to damage than the carbon one. Forget the dowell, no chance!!
Try the importer, Mr Float on 0413-387-991. If no luck then call me Tuesday on (08)9387-5676.
I have had a couple of customers break spars in a crash but it's not common.
