If ya haven't made plans for Cairns yet, you're missing out. Yokeys today was nothing less than AWESOME. Wind kicked in about 1:30 and by 2 it was 18-21 knots SE. Rivermouth was just amazing. Smooth as a billiard table with sand bars everywhere to jump over. Rode it alone for an hour and a half and counted 20 six second hang times and one nearly eight seconds! Reckon would have pulled five or more 15m airs today! Yeah, I know, ya don't believe it, fine. Shaping up to be a fun week with the guys having organised all sorts of stuff from cable park stuff to two days on the reef for more perfect kiting. Will try and get some photos in the next few days to post. Hopin to see ya here later this week. Cheers, Robbo

Glad to hear you're having a great time up there, sounds like the rest of us are really missing out. Might buy you a waterproof stopwatch though, 8 seconds? Make sure you get some video

Yes yesterday was a blast, but today.. no wind, drizzle and no chance of a kite. Glad that I'm at work. Should be good by the time kiteweek is over. I hope that it improves by Wednesday for those that have taken time off or maybe next year we can call it Cairns Cable Park Week. Good news is that the kitesurfing groupies are in town already. a couple of the girls put on a show for us Saturday arvo.

Are you sure you are not streching the truth a little just to get back at us for not going up there with you? Kills me that the last 2 times up there I got little to no wind. Take lots of pics and will have a showing at your place. You can provide the drinks you lucky B.

I have been hanging aroung North Qld for over a month waiting for this event. Rain , rain and more rain and the wind is dropping!!!
Who said North Qld was best this time of year???
How is the sunny coast this time of year? Or W,A when does their windy season start?

dear kiting monkey Bruce from Its extreme here just to let you know I am concerned that you are getting no kiting here in Cairns - we rode 8 days in row and today is good again today. To claim there is no wind is just a lie so why don't you stop telling lies on this forum and get of the computer and go kiting.
