Anybody got an opinion on using cable park boards for kiting. It semis they have alot of cross over qualities. Should I be investing in a good cable board or wake style dedicated kiteboard.
What negatives does a cable board have when it comes to kiting?

I've tried the north gambler and it has alot of similarities to a cable board, and yes it is fantastic. Its nice and thin and has a slider base, heaps of pop but also good upwind capability and not too much rocker than you struggle to get going on a kite

the gambler is an excellent kiteboard but it's still a bit too soft and flat to be good at cable.
your best bet obviously would be get a board for both disciplines, that way you're not being limited by anything.
although some cable boards look like they'd go right at cable, they're not designed with efficiency in mind because they have no worries about keeping ground etc, speed is a thing they look at for cable but not upwind point ability.
there are a few kiteboards that work reasonably well at cable, and well enough by miles if you're going to kite more than cable. I'd suggest the best profanity for this, it's stiff like a flex wakeboard, it's got good rocker ( just as much as a watson hybrid), continuous rocker for consistent speed, load and pop. it's also got the added benefit of being designed around kiting so it's got good upwind performance and light wind planing (for a wakestyle board).
