Hi All

To all and any wise advice, I am really getting annoyed with the "leash to ring thing" attachment point. Its always waving around in front of my face and whilst handling the bar.

I am led to believe this is the best point for safety advantages, but when looping, it twists up around the main chicken loop line after doing a spin or two. Now, if this is twisted when you actually need to use the emergency system, couldn't a bad twist render this ineffective in certain circumstances ???

I am aware there is another attachment point ie above the chicken loop ball thingy, but you havn't the direct line to the leading edge or the last resort to keeping the leading edge down in the event of another unexpected kite liftoff ???

Any advice or recommendations appreciated Javascript:insertsmilie('')

Love the CB3 - it's taken some pounding and held up, bring on friday

get some strong rope eg fishing lines or kiting lines and connect it where you would normally connect your safety leash. pull the lines taught the hole in the bare. then connect your safety leash to it. then you will have you leash connected in the same way only closer to you and it wound get tangled as you mentioned. (the RRD Hypertype has this system )

just keep in mined i haven't tried it but the concept works on my Hypertype

G'day Monkeyfish

The leash on a genuine bow like the Cabs, is meant to go around the centre line, below the bar and above the chicken loop.
This allows the leash to be fully spinning and gives the same 90+% depower as dropping the bar.
The rings are for flagging the kite to one line in an emergency, or for self landing. Even in an emergency the leash can often be quickly unclipped from the centre line, and clipped to the flagging line and then the chicken loop release can be activated to flag the kite.

It is not easily possible to flag the kite to one line with any sort of extension line running from the flagging ring to below the bar, unless you really know what you are doing.
I strongly reject the need for that anyway, in 3 years riding all sorts of bows I've never needed anything except the standard Cab system and always ride with my leash around the cntre line so its fully spinning.

Try it.
