Hi. Anyone ridden both these kites. Looking at getting 8 and 10m. Keen for some sensible reviews/opinions. Especially differences between the two.

Thanks

There are a lot of threads on this pimping vs hating, perhaps not specific to 2018 Drifter, but whenever Ozone is mentioned. Have you done a search? I'm keen to know also but I doubt anything useful comes from the usual trolls here.

I demoed the Reo V4/2018 Drifter in 8m & bought 8 & 10m Drifters.
You wouldn't go wrong with either kite but I liked the feel/drift of the Cab more.
What also influenced my decision was that i believe there's not much of a change on the 2019 Drifters, just colour & the 2018,s are on sale.

One can't deny that Ozone make great kites. Cabrinha tend to be too heavy on the bar for my liking.

I have a number of drifters but have ridden the new Reo. I found the Reo to be faster turning, seemed to rotate more 'on axis' than the drifter. Found it a bit harder to drift, with less stability on the waves.

Coming away I prefer my Drifters, but maybe this is because I am used to them. I could easily see another kiter with a different style of riding could prefer a Reo. Especially someone with a high level of skill in the waves.

Went from reos to drifters.
Reos I have had the best waves of my life (indo and up north) and are an awesome kite.
Drifters super smooth and will get drifters in the future. Reos are quicker but a little erratic compared to drifters (rode reos since 2012). When on went on the drifters I thought I was underpowered at first, thats how smooth they are and could not believe how easy they are to fly! Stable power delivery and you dont have to fly (up and down) as much as drifters.

Does anyone know if there is much difference between 2018 and 2019 drifters? I know the 2018 is light years ahead over the 2017 or earlier in terms of power (can ride 1-2 sizes smaller now), but I cannot fathom any difference between 2018 and 2019...

As far as I know 2018 and 2019 drifters are basically the same. They will definitely change in 2020.

I saw rowdy fly an OZONE and a Cabrinha at the same time once. Bloke lost his kite out back in Byron. Rowdy just scooped up the bar,re launched the kite and kited it upwind to him. Mental.
