The first Xbows were revolutionary ... but crap.
The SB2 and SB3 we fantastic and progressions on each other.
The IDS thing leaves me cold. Not interested in buying them. Two lines through the bar is such a crap idea.
Hopefully for the 09-10 season Cabrinha will sort the IDS out and the 5th generation kites will have some compelling reason to buy them.
Tend to agree with most of what you say having owned all the switchys including the IDS and really the only problem on the 2009 is the floating stopper point,{which on mine I modded back to the SB2 system free thanks to my Cab retailer} as for the IDS it is a good system and safer than previous models, given that you ride mostly with safety leash on front line{suicide} and this is not a safe method for beginners and to self rescue you have to switch the leash to the back flagging ring before you can wind in your lines and sail your kite in, this step can cause difficuilty and can be dangerous so the IDS system fixs that fault.
Also Cab have since upgraded the centre IDS line with a plastic coating to protect it.
You don't see people complaining about other similar systems eg. the Bandit, most 5 line C kite systems etc with center flagging line running through the bar do you?
Anyway thats my 2cents
