We was up there last year around mid August. for 1 week Ended up renting a place at yorkeys directly across the road from the beach. Originally planned to stay in Cairns but soon changed that. The guys in the kite shop at Yorkys were really good and seemed to be open all night.(google their number) They can give you the number of the Woman who seems to rule the holiday rental world up there. Heaps of nice beaches to kite between Yorkys and Port Douglas. Yorkeys Locals weren't to friendly at first but once we made the effort to talk to them they were all good. So unless you can self land and launch ok, talk to the locals first. We kited every day in 15 to 25 max. Had a great trip. Going back this year for the Dantree trip, check that out you may just want to do that instead, again the Kite shop at Yorkeys can help you out there.
