It is such an important issue before another beautiful, unique, free and relatively unrestricted PUBLIC OWNED kiting/windsurfing/diving and pleasure craft picnicking areas are lost forever (ie; Wavebreak Island currently smack bang in the middle of the Broadwater on the Gold Coast is proposed to be fully developed into luxury high rise apartments, residences, villas, a huge ass Taj Mahal Casino and SHIPPING TERMINAL which will cause wind shadowing, turbulences and restricted no go areas so that it will completely stuff forever! kiting/wind surfing to the North or South of the Island that has been enjoyed for over the past 30 years by Windsurfers and 10 years by Kiteboarders and just to mention there are not to many other flat water and relatively safe areas around in the whole of South East Queensland that are available and suitable for these activities) and sold off to an OVERSEAS (CHINESE) MULTI NATIONAL CORPORATION for a song.

It's our call now to voice and continue to voice "A BIG NO!" to this type of project and development before we loose another LIMITED FREE PRISTINE AUSTRALIAN RECREATIONAL AREA.

It's a stupid project from the start and the argument of jobs just doesn't stack up. It's not a natural harbour but there is one just up the road in Brisbane. I'm pro development but this one is plain stupid and needs to be stopped.
