Live in metro area so surf/kite small waves most of the year. Currently re-thinking my board quiver and looking at a small wave performance board shaped locally (metro or down south).
I'm sure there are a few surf/kiters out there that have been looking into doing the same but has anyone been working with local shapers to get something that rips the small stuff for both surfing and kite surfing?
I am(was) in the same situation as you slackster.
I contacted Marty (
@Delta) as he is a renowned WA shaper and kite surfs (thanks Hilly). I really didn't know what board I should be on (length/width/thickness/volume/outline etc) would suit me best for my weight, ability, style and local conditions and now after several emails I am totally sold on Marty's way of thinking so he is now making my first custom kite surfboard.
Downside is I now have to wait for it but I think it will be well worth the wait....
