Whilst I love my Naish Cult and have never been threatened by it all through my learning phase, it seems like every single session ends because of a kite stall. Now I'm fully prepared to accept that it's my crap kite flying skills that are the cause but I was wondering if it was a side effect of its excellent depower. It always seems to stall from 12 oclock so I've been trying to fly it at anything but that until I am trying to get the board on my feet. Am I over sheeting ?

Also I don't have the smart loop and I find that getting to the trim handles whilst the kite is in the air is nearly impossible with a waist harness.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

For starters piss the original trim set up and upgarde to the smart loop , the original setup was a piece of ****ttt, you had to have extra long arms to reach the trim starps.

Set the steering lines on the bar on the most powered up knot, you have three to choose form pick the one closest to the bar , once you have the smart loop installed trim the kite with about 3 to 6 inches of depwoer through the smart loop and just set your stopper where your comfortable with it on the smart loop. After you do that you wont have to adjust the trim again as you have plenty of depower on the bar.

Like that you will work out when your oversheeting the kite, when I owned my cult I rode like this 95 percent of the time and only adjusted the trim on ballistic days when it was survival kiting.

The smart loop is probably a good idea. However, I've got an 07 12m Cult and I've left it stock standard regards trim - true it's hard to reach the handles (I've got arms like a gorilla so can just get to them). The only way I can stall this kite is to fly it in next to no wind. If the wind is a steady 10 knots (ie not enuf to get up and going), the kite flies happily all day. You need to keep working the kite however. If it is stalling from 12 oclock, I would suspect that perhaps the wind is too light, the kite is sheeted out too far, or the kite is stationary. Keep one hand on the bar while you position the board, and work the kite from 11 to 1 oclock till you're ready to drop it into the power zone. Sheeting out too much will cause the kite to come forward in the window and possibly stall, whilst oversheeting can backwind the kite, and also stall it. Provided there is enuf wind, this kite always leaves me with a smile on my face.

Didi, Thanks for the info, I think keeping the kite moving will help a lot. I've got a 12m 08 and that always puts a smile on my face too.
