Sweet now i can afford a new sb3 8m to match my new 12,, First thing new year..
Cause using this bar chopped down will save me over 500 on a new sb3 8m..
The bar is only 4 months old like new.. Cheers..

Errrr....maybe.
Some end caps are glued on with epoxy as well as being rivetted slash screwed.
I've cut down a few bars in my time cause I always use a 40cm bar with my kites.
That's quite short, I can just fit my hands on the thing but that's the way I like it.

If when you drill out the rivet and you find that the end cap is glued on hard,
you will need to hacksaw thru the carbon tubing (the bar) to remove the cap.
Then it's a matter of machining out the carbon tube from within the cap.
Then measure 22.5cm from the centre hole on each side of the bar and mark for cutting.
Hacksaw the carbon and replace the end caps.
Use silicon sealant as a glue and pop a rivet.
Done.

cabrinha bar....hmm they use good glue......cut a side and put it in a vice. to snap the glue position. used no more nails as well as another rivet to secure. your 12 will turn like ****.

its all about preference, i use all my kites on a 14inch bar 5m-15m and they still turn fine, if i need a super quick loop turn i just grab some outside line no biggy.

p.s. yes some are glued on hard, very hard but... if you are a real man with proper tools i.e. a bench a vice a wrench and a hammer you will be able to loosen any cap. yes it may sometimes seem impossible but hitting it with a hammer around the bar end and tightening it in the vice in different postions will crack the glue and it will come off...eventually. good luck, oh and measure properly hahahaha i have seen many a bar wrecked by not taking off the desired amount from BOTH ends.
