Apparently this is the WA section. We are supposed read post titles and ignore them if they have Woodies, Mowing the Lawn, Pelican Point, The Pond, Margaret River, Lancelin, Rottnest, Leighton, Scarbs or Whining in it.

The croc was from QLD. All our crocs are gone. Sharks ate 'em.

Crocs make it south of Carnarvon each year in summer as long as the sea temp and air temp are warm enough.

On the east coast crocs make it as far as Fraser Island

i worked in Geikie Gorge (Kimberley) for about 6 mths. (thats in WA for everyones benefit... )
swam in the gorge every day. the boat tour was very informative, about 900 crocs lived in there, all freshies.
as far as i knew at the time, with locals swimming there every day for 6 months of the year, there had never been a croc attack.
yes, at first it was unnerving seeing crocs a hundred metres away while swimming, but once you understand the animal and its behaviour and preferences it was no concern. fyi, if a freshie bites you and tries to roll you it is likely to break its jaw and then die a slow starving death. they know not to snack on too big a meat source.

What a load of crocl Pun intended.

A croc does not have to start doing the death roll to kill or remove flesh from its prey. They even do not have to wedge you under a log to decompose you for later. Crocs, especially salties can eat you on the spot, and they have been known to attack and kill cattle and cows. So a human is more than the right size for it. Furthermore, male crocs will kill another croc, and eat it, even a female, if she objects to his courtship or desires to mate.

Thanks Kazan.... what this means is that my testosterone levels have been pumped by my incredible feat of swimming with 900 crocs!! yehar!
...and yes, seriously, they swim in Geikie Gorge all the time, no jokes. the locals actually snigger at you if you talk about being bitten by a croc.

is there anyone in Carnarvon that actually knows anything. The old chinese whispers of sea breeze seems to be creating it's own story again.
I doubt a freshwater croc could travel that far without water and if a saltie has made it down there it will be almost dead and unable to eat anyway.
