"capix wakecap"

Not sure I'd like to face-plant with that big peak tied to my forehead though... would tend to snap your neck.

Go for a Gath... OK so it doesn't look as cool, but neither does drooling whilst being spoon-fed either.

Hey dont be mistaken in thinking that gaths stand up to australian standards. If you had looked closely you would know that they are called gath hats! They provide light impact protection and guard from the sun and wind! Its illegal for them to be called helmets!

Trust me if you wear a gath and expect it to save you then your brain might not be worth saving anyway!

Go for a protec! They conform to standards and they come in sweet colours.

Gath masticate falice with the best of them if you get my drift.

Dave.

Last few sessions I have been hit in the back of the head by my surfboard! To save my neck when I neck when I head north, I was thinking to wear it backwards. Cant wait for the response to that comment...It offers more protection this way than the gath.

Also kiting with kickers and sliders...cant get enough protection

Also, Im a short bloke but have a mammoth head so wouldnt mind actually trying one on for size. Anyone in WA got one?

The problem i can see with a helmet that's designed to wear both ways, is it probably only fits snug around your crown and will not be as stable on your head. Dave's suggestion of the Pro-Tec Ace Wake looks a better option... as long as it doesnt chew d1ck it must be OK

You can wear the Capix backwards. What dave says about gaths is true, the best helmets are Protec, all the winter olympic team including freestyle skiers were wearing them.

yeah a helmet wouldnt of helped this one either, but its the principle lol... it COULD have helped it...

there was a review in one of the latest Boarder mags about helmets... it has capix and protech, protech won i think... but flippin thru the pages its a pretty equal spread of all 3... Pryme, Protech and Capix... so go with watever...

My friend has a Gath. As a noobstar he was edgeing really hard and thought to himself "How far can I lean back?"

He proceded to lean so far back that his head was in the water. He dunked his helmet and because Gath dont have any holes in their helmets his head/helmet was like a bucket dragging in the water.

funniest thing I ever heard about helmet malfunctioning involuntery!

Get anything but a Gath/Buckethead Helmet

Apparently protechs are cheaper too but Im not getting a helmet to protect my head as such. Wearing the capix backwards means I have heaps more protection to my neck.
Its a bit weird because I have only hit my head a couple of times surfing yet heaps more when I get done in a wave with kite and a surfboard. Up north Ill leash on the board only because if you lose it, itll end up under the cliffs.
So no one in WA has one?
