The start of this season has been a bit bumpy and I have only managed 1 1/2 good sessions (out of 5-6 days out) so far. I've had the wrong sized kite for the day, cr@ppy hole-ish winds, too much work, burst the LE on my 13m blah blah blah.

So i rocked up to the beach last night (after bailing on kiting due to fam/life stuff the night before when it was nice wind) and it is 15kts, light as, hardly any kites out. Bummer.. sigh.. another dud sesh. I had (uncharacteristically) a few minutes before downwind bud was due, so I bolted home and fished out my 151 light wind board and bolted back to the scene.

Anyway, got to Flozzer for the launch, put up my newly repaired 2005 13m and, set off, half expecting an boring underpowered sesh combined with a possible malfunction etc.

WRONG - 5 minutes into it I have forgotten all about the major repair and am cruising around on the 151 behemoth with a sweet amount of power with a grin on my face again.

90 mins later as the sun is just about to slide away pulled into Brighton having had possibly the best and most fun light wind sesh ever for me yet. Fun little waves to play on the behemoth with, steady as 15kts, hardly any kites around, plenty of speed (but not a lot of hang-time) to boost with and a deluxe sun set. Fun fun fun. Yeh - it's a diff vibe to 25+ kts whiteknuckle fever but was just the tonic for me. Way chuffed.
