Still think it's the most perfect and gorgeous animal on this planet.....
Have planed to go to Adelaide this winter to do a great white dive... But if I can do this somewhere closer, let me know...
"Clacks", I DO want to see this live... (May be not while kiting though.... ) Send me a PM if you know a good spot to watch those stunning creatures.... I'm a huge fan...
Thanks!

I thought it was really cool until Dan OK enlightened me. He must only be ridin' 2inch surf. I too have a 17" screen. Where do all these little people live ? Have you seen them?

I use to think the same until my mate asked me the question that buy jumping in a cage with a wet suit and burley attracting these beasts, next time it see's a surfer or wind/kite surfer in the water its just gonna think "lunch"
Though I would love to watch them under water, I wont out of principle in hope it may save a fellow surfers life, and I hope other people will do the same.
I surfed cactus, near ceduna in South Australia with a great white and its not a good feeling

I hear you... but I've done quite a lot of shark dives (not with great whites though) and they don't quite think that a big noisy thing making a lot of un-natural bubbles is part of the menu... They're actually shy and impressionable creatures. We rather scare the s**t out of them than anything. Very often I had to hold my breath to manage to get close to them.
I'm against ditching heaps of rubbish and blood in the water to attract them, this, definitely... But I don't think cage-diving with great white leads them to aggressive behaviour towards humans (sharks have -thank God- very little intelligence... Being perfectly adaptated to their environment, they do not NEED to be smart to garantee the specie's survival... which is a good thing: an intelligent shark would be something really scary! Oops, sorry, getting carried away there!).....
A surfer looks way more like an appetizing seal than a diver does.... Just don't think there's any link between shark divers and surfers attack, really...
I don't like them kiting, surfing or snorkelling... We become too easily a pray seen from underneath.... I'm already paranoid when kiting over here! But I never had that feeling diving with them and they are perfectly amazing (and quite peaceful) animals...
So I will for sure add the great white at some point to my "dived with" shark list...
I think they teach you to have respect for the ocean... They're the last true kings in the animal kingdom... They're just fascinating, I love them...
So if there's any other shark freak out there who did the experience of diving with great white and who could link me to good locations, get in touch with me....
Thanks in advance!

hey em just launch 1 km from birubi surf club and go south, they are evrywhere. me and baz have been kiting with several near mossy rock which is about 200 m from the surf club. they seem to be more agressive and interested in us the further south we have been going.ps make sure your gear is in top shape. a ditch behind the surf line could be interesting.

Hi Clacks,
Saw ACA on Thursday night and the camera crew went out just beyond the break somewhere along the beach (never mentioned Stockton but I'm sure it was) in a tinny with locals and saw 14 young Whites. They were feeding them off the back of the boat. Looked like they were only 50 - 100M from the shore with Surfers sat just inside the break. They seemed to be everywhere. Don't think I fancy a downwinder there.

If its any consolation, i think South Africa is the only place they breach like this. In the rest of the world they just take you under the water like normal.

Not sure why they only breach in South Africa, its kinda weird that they only exibit a specific type of behavior in one area, maybe its all a racism issue, where in the old apartheid era in SA, the water was a whites only area and the blacks (seals) weren't allowed in the water due to racial segregation, so they had to come across to air to get the seals before going back into the water.
