Yeah NZ was blasting most of the time but in the south the wind temp was below zero! i had only one windy session at a spot called Lake Ferry , near Wellington. Unreal sand bar set up with onsh waves and a flat spot just inside the bar* TAKE A SMALL KITE TO NZ!
I think the South Island is " on" most of the time . Plenty of beach open to the NWer , Waves, Rocks .I thoght the bent trees near Gero were pretty mad but the whole of the West Coast NZ is flattened by the wind.
There were not too many spots for beginners but for good riders , there is a lot of fun to be had , i saw at least a dozen good wave spots that would be worth riding.
Im also sure most of the South Island lakes offer good kiting on the NWer.
The weather here is not so flash either, so the next lessons won't be untill we go to Monkey Mia for the Choice Escape.
iI hate the cold!
