Not what I'd call enjoyable You are watching over the shoulder for the next big gust.

Got caught at Pinnaroo on Tuesday, went from 20 knots to 35 knots very quickly. 12m up, not enuff time to get to shore and too risky anyway. Parked the kite at 12, sat in the water with board in front and waited. Front hit, kite jumped around a lot but stayed at 12.

Got pulled downwind and offshore quite a distance considering the kite was at 12 and I was using the board as an anchor. When the wind started to drop headed back in and packed up.

Will stick to polesurfing in the fronts, at least you can drop the pole and wait for the gust to pass.

Hehe saw Jake, Ry and WayneO on Monday get hit by what must have been close to 40kn.
Ryland was getting mega teabagged on his 9, all 3 had to pull the pin. Lucky it was dead offshore

I heard of one kiter who didn't have such a lucky escape on Monday. Hope you'll be back on the water soon. I was of course too much of a ***** to go out...

Hey Ptussy
Was that Kiter at Cott on Monday?
I saw one bloke walking around down there with his kite at 12 while some BIG black clouds were approaching! He did go out, but I had to go... Hope he was ok...

Wednesday arvo at Cott was fine, I was fully fully juiced on my 12m R5 fully depowered, should have had the 9m up. Nyall was on a 10m wave and Damo was on a 10m. Great powered session in 20 to 25knots with 3 foot surf. We were watching the horizon but no black bitches arrived. Love winter.

A session at Cott or Leighton this arvo is on the cards. 3-4 foot surf and 20 -25 WSW. Could be good.

PS. Watch your arse if you haven't got the winter experience. At Cott on wednesday I was ripped sideways 10m, super over powered, on my 12, at least 10 times and I weigh 102kg's. Very strange frontal systems this year, lots of thunder and lightning about in the black fronts. Even a few water spouts about a few weeks ago. The guys out kiting in this stuff are pretty experienced, the lads above tea bagging about on Monday are some of the best kiters in Australia. I was gona go kiting on Sunday arvo but to much lighning about. If it looks dodgy don't go.

Fairly blitzing at scarbs today. Out on a 8M airush flow from 1-3 except when I got sucked over the falls, it ditched, I bailed and spent 20 mins untangling.

Just a footnote kids. I checked the radar big time before I went out and all was looking clear but while I was out there it p-ssed down pretty solid for about 10 mins, fortunately none of that 50 knot (forcasted) squall action came through with it. So don't just fully rely on forcasts and radars, keep your eyes open too.

well me damo bonnie and a traveler went out on the north side of woodies and a few others on the south side

bonnie on a 6m damo on a 10m and i on a 13m (only cause it was a new pre release RRD HiR and i had to give it a go)

was quite a powered sesh and a big thumbs up on the performance of the new HiR, handled the 30+knts squall that came through no probs huge boosts quick loops and stable as

cant wait to get a nice 18-23 seabreeze (with sunshine)
