Below is an extract from the Coconet Website....There is now a freeride format as well as the Freestyle National Title competition. The freeride format will combine a wakestyle with park with a freeride expression type event.

If you are a serious freestyle competitor you can still gain entry into the Nationals via wild card selection, so get your applications in fast. For everyone else simply follow Coconet's instructions below...or check out their webiste www.coconetclassic.net.au if you need any further info please either PM me or call me on 0422 430430

Chris

This year the Coconet Classic will be holding BOTH a freestyle kitesurfing competition (open to all competitors) and the National Kitesurfing Titles!! So whether you’re a serious competitor or a social rider the Coconet Classic is for you!!
Anyone can enter the freestyle competition simply by going to the sign up section, entering your details and paying your registration fees.
If you’d like to be in the National Titles, you must first pre-qualify simply by downloading the form below and emailing it back. Once you’ve been notified by the AKSA as a pre-qualifier, you’re free to register and pay in the sign up section.

Entry is just $125 and gets you:
• Entry into the kitesurfing competition (you can enter both formats
at no extra cost)
• BBQ for 4 days
• Free ticket into the Coconet Classic Music Festival
• Share in prizes
How do I pre-qualify for the nationals?
As a member interested in competing at the national level, you should nominate yourself simply by downloading the form and sending it back to the address provided. These will then be passed onto state bodies and the AKSA.
Qualifications committees will be choosing from a number of interested riders and will need to know how competitive you are compared to others. Anything you can say or show to indicate your ability level will help the committees in their decisions.
What do I do once selected as a qualifier for the nationals?
Qualified riders will be contacted directly and invited to attend. If the invitation is declined, the next rider on the list will be invited and so on until all places are filled. A complete list of qualifying names will be listed on this page once they are selected.
Once you’re selected as a qualifier, you will then need to register and pay online, simply by going to the ‘Sign Up!’ section of the website. After you’ve signed up, you’ll receive your confirmation and receipt via email, together with you music festival ticket.
Can family and friends join in?
Definitely! Friends and family who wish to attend and not compete are most welcome. You can enjoy the atmosphere, markets, acoustic music, and beach games for free. If you want to attend the music festival on Sunday 12th April however, you will need to purchase a ticket simply by clicking the ‘Buy a Ticket’ button on this website.

barring a cyclone I doubt there will be very big waves for the national kitesurfing titles, they should really be held at Pt Mcquarie again, IMO.

Hey guys and girls,

I have just sent Coconet the list of riders who have been successful in either gaining pre selection or winning a wild card entry into this years freestyle nationals.

They will publish this list on their website in coming days. There are few riders out there who I know are attending but still have not yet registered. The spots for the nationals are very limited now, so if you are wanting to compete at this level, apply now.

For everyone else who just wants to freeride or take part in the wakestyle kicker and slider park event and the other surprises we have in store get your application in now also!

hey,
just wondering if anyone knows what the timetable for the comp looks like. Are they running heats on the Wednesday if there is enough wind? and are finals planned to be on the Sunday?
had a good look through the website and I cant see any guidelines for the timing of the event. Can anyone who's got some ideas let me know?
thanks
