So i'm heading up with my brothers, we'll have a van full of gear and a boat so we'll be doing a fair whack of fishing if there's no wind.

Would be keen on meeting any of the local kiters there (MrBonk?) if possible.

You can give me a call on 0402 166 511 or leave me your number and i'll call you. Icy cold beers will be in abundance.

Cheers,

Neill

Sweet as, i'll be flying a red and black GK sonic 11m, on a Naish twintip. You?

We're coming up from brisbane, staying at the caravan park right there next to the corner shop. My brother's a mad keen windsurfer too so if there's solid wind he'll be out (but he's picky, doesn't go out in less than 20 knots most of the time)

Cheers

Anyone else from Elliot/bundy on here?

My GF and I are flying Best Nemesis or Airush Lifts (all red) and riding Cardboards boards.

I don't think there's any other locals on here. There's a few guys from Hervey Bay kicking around though.

Fingers crossed it goes SE again for the weekend!!

I am heading up. I will hopefully christening my new shiny Rhino 10m!! (Thanks Jason - Bris Kites). I was up there a fortnight ago and had the place to myself. It will be great if the wind is up and a few guys are out.

See you on the water

Yep, sounds about right. Honestly, with such a fantastic spot so close, I don't understand why there isn't a bigger kiting community up here. My GF and I are often the only ones on the water.

Absolutely! I'll just have to find something appropriate to sacrifice to the wind gods and we'll be set

I'm so disappointed that someone had their gear nicked here I've been checking Cash Converters every few days (I walk past there every day at lunch time), just in case the scumbag has tried to sell it, but nothing yet.

You could always burn a doona to satisfy the Gods.
It'll auto-zenith to heaven in a cloud of incense smoke.
A big fluffy puffball.
lol.

Hey Bonk,

Why are you such an advocate for doonas ?
You admit to flying Best and Airush inflatos.
You seem so overly defensive about the short-comings of foils.
Do you sell doonas ?
Is it just business hype ?

No, I don't sell kites of any description (apart from the second hand 2004 Best Nemesis I *still* have for sale.....anyone?). If you really must know, I'm a programmer.

Because I demo'd a PL Venom2 for a couple of weeks over Easter and loved it......simple as that. Compared to my current inflato kites, it had much greater wind range, much better gust handling, *way* better boost and a much less 'hard edged' overall feel to it.

Now that I've flown one, I can legitimately offer my opinions about the kite. I liked it, I've said so, and I've offered up my reasons why.

Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but as far as I can see, you haven't actually flown one. Indeed, some of the comments you've made about them would suggest that if you have, it might have been a very early design. Certainly nothing recent in any case. You've also been asked several times in the forums here and I don't recall having seen you actually answer the question. So, I'm going to make the assumption that you don't, in fact, have any first hand experience with these kites. If that's the case, then where does this font of knowledge you're apparently drawing on actually spring from?

Well the graphs for the central coast are looking particularly 5hithouse at the moment, here's hoping some more wind will come and rescue me from the boredom of fishing

And god damn, even i'm getting sick of waveslave and his constant goddam doona/mattress/venom bashing, and i don't even read this forum in depth.

I don't give a crap what you think about any kite in the world, let alone a venom, so try and keep your rubbish out of other legitimate threads. Nobody cares what you think, or what you have to say, on this topic.

It's not looking at all good for the weekend at this stage. In fact, Windfinder is saying it's going to be W to SW on Sat, which is offshore here .

I had one of the best sessions at elliot in a wsw 2 years ago. It was coming straight up the river, glassy, blue water and 18-20kts!

I've never yet had a good session in offshore wind.

Of course, if it looks smooth enough and it's not p!ssing down raining this weekend, I'll certainly head down the river a bit and give it another shot though

Hahaha! I'm glad it's not just me then.....last time I went in there, I got that 'being watched like a hawk' vibe .

I think the chances are more likely that someone else who was in the park and just moving through decided to take it with them when they left

Seriously Kurt the winds blowing S/W to W all weekend , The Pin or just South of Banana Bank is the go for sure.

Iv never tried Elliot in anything but a S/E so i couldn't comment.

Id believe that the Rainbow side of D/I would be sick as well, but the boss frowns upon me taking the falcon ute up the beach (something to do with 'respect of property' or something) wotever

Il let you know by Thur arv where my choice is.
