Hello,

I'm a beginner kitesurfer in London coming to Sydney for a month from 14th March. Is it worth bringing my kitesurfing gear (which uses up my entire baggage allowance)?

I've got Cabrinha switchblades (an 8 & an 11) -- is this about right for Sydney?

If I set aside ten days for boarding during my trip how many days can I hope to get on the water?

Is Botany Bay the best place for beginners? What other beaches would you recommend?

Also, if I'm planning on camping is there anywhere that I can camp within walking distance from a kitesurfing spot?

Finally, should I join the AKSA for the insurance while I'm there?

March is close to the end of the season but we still get reasonable wind.

Botany Bay is good for beginners.

Not sure about camping close by. There is a caravan park on Botany Bay - Grand Pines

As a committe member of NSWKBA (AKSA) I encourage membership. Bring a wetsuit. You'll probably only need your 11m kite.

Take a jumper
