Hey guys here's what I've been thinking...

Comps in Perth are few and far between, not due to the lack of effort of John G, Ian Y, Gav H and many others that have given their time to see that the sport move's forward...

I want your ideas for a fun comp, one day only, none of this two or three day stuff and judged by the riders, with a style like John Geyer's event earlier in the season...

I've already secured a prise list... NO MONEY as in my experience (within other sports) this would make it a procomp which would make a lot of difference to insurance...

here's what we have:

  • 1 x 9 meter kite
  • 1 x board
  • 1 x pulley bar
  • 1 x set(4) of 27m lines
  • Mens T-shirts
  • Womens T-shirts
  • Hat
  • Stickers

Now I'm thinking you must have WAKSA membership for your own benefit...

No advertised spectators if you get my drift...

Comp/judging zone to be down wind of launch area which is to be down wind of rider/spectator area...

We do have the slider avaiable to add to the fun, what do you guys think... (the obvious rule's apply, Helmets to be worn, you the rider's will have to sign a waiver before you use this equipment or even compete)

I'm thinking there should be only be a men's and women's event, for a few reason's; 1# take's too much time; 2# add's to the pressure to perform; 3# smaller groups in each heat and 4# take's too much time !

entry fee ?... well here's what I'm thinking, If everyone sign's waiver stating that each rider is responcible for his or her conduct and or misconduct during the event/fun day... then there may not need to be a fee, if any I think we could dontate it to some great charity or to WAKSA ?

anyway it's getting to the nitty gritty on Survivor so I'm off to see who wins...

Please comment...

Oh yeah I've got a Photographer and others are welcome !

Sounds more like the kinds of events WWA should be holding. I like ur ideas and the focus on fun, not just the pros and the amount of wicked prizes. Keep up the sterling effort.

come on guys you must have some Idea's...

just think a fun day, few laughs, few beer's, maybe a barby...

Some of the top guys may not be into it as there's no money on offer, so that leave's it open for all the guy's and Gal's that do not have sponsor's to give it their all and take home some new gear...

hi
how does this sound, safety bay (where i work teaching windsurfing and kitesurfing) use the sand bar too the left of the yatch club, nice flat water also space for the slider i saw you guys on it by penguin island a feww weeks ago. the location would be good for spectators and judging, if you wanted then maybe run it one evening say startin at 5ish by that time the windsurfers are all running off home and the wind only gets better as the evening draws on, the shallow pond at high tide is sweet for carving stuff too and would be an awesome arena. maybe even flood lights would be sick.

anyway let me know what you think
