Hey all,

I just started kitesurfing offshore after starting the sport a few weeks ago. I did a run up the coast from Peregian to Sunrise Beach however upon arriving I had to walk two hours back to my car. I have discovered a bus that runs the trip every half an hour and being an active member at the surf club I leave my gear there drive to sunshine beach then bus back to Coolum then kite back to my car. Its all a bit of a mission and unfortunatly I have no friends in the kiting world (yes im a nerd), when all I really need to do is find a buddy who shares my interest and loves going for the great run north to south or south to north along the coast and is happy to do a car pool.

So any kiters interested in partnering up with me it would be greatly appreciated and warmly welcomed.

HAHA I completed my IRB crewies last weekend! Getting my boat licence on monday to do the drivers.

I saw on a previous post that s1 was starting an email list so people can advertise when they are going out. I would be happy to get that off the ground if people are interested, was thinking of organising a superdownwinder from caloundra to sunshine (going around old women island) I have a small catamaran if someone feels like sailing the trip as a backup boat?

banana boy? is that you lee? we should do some downwinders some time cos i have no 1 to go with and dont have a car. tryin to get my dad to start kiting but its been harder than i thought. ohh and im good enough now so i can easily keep up. cheers

Just saw that there were a few of you getten together for down winders. I've only been going for a few months myself but am loven it when I'm not getten flogged. I'll be moving back to buderim from W.A in another month or so and don't know anyone that kites up the coast at the moment so it would be good to catch up with a couple of ya and see where the good spots are. What's a good kite for sunshine coast??????? I've got a 10 and 16 boxa which pretty much covers things over here except when it gets to 30 kts like it's gonna be on sunday yeeehaa. Anyway, I'll try an meet up with a few of ys when I get back to beautiful sunshine coast.

hey man, na i didnt, we went and launched the jetski, and halfway from getting out the river mouth the jetski dies (a problem which was supposed to off been fixed in a service) after that my dad tells me the boat was heading back south, not sure if it went into port at mooloba or coloundra, so ive been and seen the coast guard and water police, and have left notes with them. i really hope i can find it otherwise im out for awhile

Ha ha thanks dave. A bloody long way to go, but I will come down soon mate! Soz I havent been to the wed night gigs but ive been way busy, ill do everything i can to come to the next one. I am still using that old board but I have reglassed one of my old surfboards and installed bindings ect.. so im pretty keen to get out there on it.

Cos there are a few of us in coolum that kite and the downwinders are pure fun. 10-15kms of beach is nohin short of bliss. you'll find if the winds good there's the boys from coolum - noosa out there, 10-15 kiters on the beach and we respect the clubbies as I had close call's, just set away from the flags and go around swimming areas or we'll be same **** as Byron,Currumbin and other ban places.

Can I keep up... haha, We will see at the coolum classic! My custom made ex surfboard/new navy seal board was built for speed mate! [}:)]
