Hi gkflying,

It depends upon the water you are riding in and the location and wind strength, your experience and the purpose of the board.

If you are in a location that has choppy water you would be better with something a little narrower and a tad longer with perhaps a double concave to take the bumps out of the ride. If in super flat conditions, you can try something flat bottomed or single concave and a bit shorter and a tad wider.

I am going to assume you ride powered most of the time so I would suggest trying something around the 138-142 in length with a width of around 40-42.

Everything is changeable of course depending upon gusty wind or steady, board rocker, tail flex, rail shape, kiting experience, and ride preference (ie upwind, nice and loose, carvy, surf, wake or park style etc. It is never just as easy as "what board should I ride".

If you give us some more details we can probably be more helpful.

As a general all rounder a Switch 142 from Airush will probably do everything you want though, without being too specific.

Hope this helps,

Good winds,

Thanks for the tips, looking at a windrush 138 & began to think this may have been a tad small (novice @ 92kg)
Have only been into this sport for one season.
Currently riding a big floaty slingshot LFTneed to move on.

HI gkflying,

Yep definately go for the 142 IMHO. This will be a good general purpose board and will be more than progressive enough for you for the years to come. Don't get all carried away with the whole short/small board hype, buy something that will be a comfy no brainer with good all round performance.

There will be plenty of time to buy a wicked performance stick in the future when you have the skills to put one to good use. The 142 will always be a good lighter wind board when you do want to go smaller.

Check this link for details http://www.airush.com/products/Switch.asp

Happy hunting and good winds,
