Can someone please - in plain english describe the method of " self Launching " of the Crossbow. The films on BOW KITE.COM don't explain it clearly enough for me.

ok so lets say lines have been connected so they are directly upwind and lets say your going to launch from the left of the kite pick the kite up and put it over the right hand side of the lines of all lines then point the left hand tip direct upwind and put just a little sand on the second panel to weight it down just a little like a handful or two or three you put the kite over the lines like that becouse when you bring your lines to the side when launching they are free from under the kite, also when you poin the kite into the wind the back tip should just have the wind in it so it is filling with air not so it is moving voilently but just so it stands up then hook into your bar and walk toward the left hand side of the windowbut upwind somewhat now if you pull on the outside right hand line it will allow the right hand side of the kite to come around a little more and grab the wind it will put the kite onto its side but slightly pionting the leading edge toward the sand untill you walk into the wind window where it will sit up as you even out the steering and thats it its heaps easy

self launch the same way as normal with the wingtip folded over except 1) fold over the second strut not the first
2) use a ****e load of sand

if there is plenty of room on the beach and there are no sharp objects or snags (groomed beach) i just have the kite LE down at the edge of the window, put tension on the lines and the kite rotates around further down wind into the window and then like a water relaunch pull on the outside line you need to and its up. (probably more suited to lighter wind)
