Just wanting some clarification on where you can and cannot kite at Currumbin.

I was heading down for a sesh at about midday today and came across a guy appearing to give a lesson in the mouth of the Alley and several other guys kiting in there too.... Let alone how many kiters there were later this arvy...

I just don't want to be a Brissy kiter doing the wrong thing on Goldy turf so thought I'd ask.

"to the south (the estuary) of a straight line drawn from the northern tip of currumbin rock to the end of the northern wall is "department of transport 6 knot zone for watercraft"

the lifeguard and waterpolice tolerate kiters at the moment as they are waiting for an "incident" to happen with a third party innocent person to be tested in the state courts which will provide important legislation to limit kitesurfing activity statewide."

This fact must be taken into consideration when intending to kite in the Currumbin Area.

Stay out of the estuary altogether.

Kite just to the north of the northern rock wall at Laceys Beach.

A new car park to the north of Currumbin alley gives safe parking and eady access.

Great water and nice waves - Plus no issues with the authorities
