Whats the go. Cyclone 500km of the Cairns coast so what do all the Cairns kiters do???? Go kiting. Low and behold though 10 kiters, myself included, end up sitting on the beach at Yorkeys Knob for +3hours in disbelief because there is all of 5kts......... All day.....

So disappointed, Catagory 4, ha, WHATEVA.

Should have gone out Saturday - there was plenty of wind all day and all the way from Machans to Yorkeys - Looks like tomorrow will be a different story. 280kmh winds. It's hard to even imagine, let alone kite in. Let's hope no-one gets hurt.

Its windier in Mackay. 24-34knots today. Waves were 2mtr solid face. Session went off. Using the new Best Waroo 9mtr and have finally found a Bow kite that I like. Damn

What else did you expect???

The only time I have ever experienced wind from a cyclone to be kiteable or sailable (exwindsurf days) was just after it passed. Leading up to a cyclone the winds often pick up from nothing to ridiculously strong.
