I was kiting a few years ago in the lovely smelly murky brisbane (sandgate) waters and a small (plate size) stingray jumped out of the water and landed on my arms and depower line and flapped around for a few seconds.
Freaked me out - lucky it didn't spike me!
... Enjoying a kite in a big shallow flat water pond, I inadvertantly chased a big stingray into a shallow pond on my TT at mach 9, it swimming furiously just under the nose of the board. And then a thought occured to me, we're gunna both run out of water soon, and no sooner had I thought it, the damn thing thrashed like mad as I skidded into an emergency slide turn. The thing that shocked me was the huge tail that whipped around, just missing my legs, obviously it was punching on with me and the board. I didn't see the barb, I was in too much of a mad hurry to get the f out of there, leaving me wondering what the hell was I thinking, flying into a shollow pond knowing full well how shallow it was.
I've already had a barb from a small stingray get me, this thing would have been real bad if he had!!!!
cheers,
Robbie
